Wired For War

The Unmanned Slaughter.

In his recent book and TED Talk, P.W.Singer describes the future of our military, mainly robotic weapons and the use of unmanned drones. Certainly less American casualties are expected, however, where is line we are to draw so that these missions don't get carried away? I'd prefer if there weren't people whose day-job was to blast "bad-guys" from a remote computer screen as if some new high-tech video game. The detachment from the action is highly alarming, but then-again, I don't want to fight in the field. Here's some info on the Unmanned Air Vehicles and the possible consequences.

"Is it our machines, or is it us, that is wired for war?"

He was on The Daily Show shortly after this book was released. Singer was also interviewed on Fresh Air with Terry Gross. His site, his articles and a list of his books. A review of 'Wired For War'.
